Natasha Adiyana Morris is the playwright and director of the upcoming workshop production of The Negroes Are Congregating.
Natasha is a play creator and performing artist based in Toronto, Canada. She is most recognized as the executive director of PIECE OF MINE Arts, an organization founded in 2013 that promotes work-in-development by Black artists, including the annual PIECE OF MINE Festival and Black Men in Theatre, and the educational youth program Living Black Genius.
She has spoken on panels for organizations such as Speak Sudan, Black Speculative Arts Movement Conference, and Congress of Black Women of Canada Mississauga Chapter. Her accolades include the SummerWorks’ New Performance Text Award, Ontario’s 2015 Leading Women Building Communities Recognition Certificate, The Black Canadian Awards’ Leadership
Certificate, and guest on CTV’s Canada AM. Natasha is blessed to have been mentored by local organizations b current, The Watah Theatre (formerly anitafrika.dub theatre), Obsidian Theatre, Meredith Potter Arts Management and Shouters Youth Entrepreneurship Program. Natasha is a drama graduate of Etobicoke School of the Arts.
